At present, semiconductor LED lighting has been included in  long-term technology development plan in China.Now it has formed epitaxial wafers,chip preparation, package integration, LED application  industry chain.
Driven by the favorable policy,the domestic LED industry develop rapidly.According to statistics,there are about 60 upstream  enterprises,device packaging enterprises more than 1,000 and more than 2,000 downstream application enterprises in China's LED lighting  industry.LED industrial output value are 827 billion yuan in 2009.
LED lighting has been the fastest growing application market instead of LED backlight.By 2015, LED lighting market in the domestic value  of penetration will reach 1:4.
As of the end of 2009,China had more than 3,000 LED enterprises,however,only 140 enterprises' annual output over 100 million.No enterprise's annual sales over $ 1 billion.Although China have large number of LED enterprises, the scale is generally small.
At present, the development of optoelectronic enterprises are mainly concentrated in the application field.Foreign companies and Taiwan companies have monopolized most LED core technology, domestic enterprises can only be turned to low-tech application field.
Lack of core technology,despite market expectations is high.But in this stage,due to blind development,China's LED lighting industry has exposed many problems such as lack of core technology and innovative capacity,the market disorderly competition and other issues.One side is the rapid development of LED industry,the other side is lack of technology and equipment. This is the current state of Chinese LED industry development.
